The Problem

Forager's load board lacked a direct way for carriers to negotiate rates, forcing both sides into inefficient manual processes.

The Solution

I designed a self-service bidding platform that enabled direct negotiation and real time decision making

Key Features

A closer look at the solutions that improved efficiency and user satisfaction.

Carrier Load Board

Filterable table view of available shipments with detailed load requirements, enabling carriers to identify and bid on suitable opportunities.

Bid Submission Interface

Simple bid form allowing carriers to submit offers above target rates with customizable expiration times.

Real Time Notifications

Instant Slack alerts notify Foragers of new bids, ensuring timely review and faster load coverage decisions.

Forager Bid Dashboard

Centralized review interface enabling Foragers to accept, counter, or decline bids directly within the platform.

The Impact

The self-service bidding feature transformed how carriers and Foragers negotiated rates, creating a faster and more transparent marketplace.

The new bidding system eliminated the need for manual, offline negotiations that previously delayed load coverage. Carriers could now submit counter-offers directly through the load board, while real-time Slack notifications ensured Foragers could review and respond to bids immediately.

By centralizing the negotiation process within the platform, both carriers and Foragers gained transparency and efficiency. What was once a fragmented, time-consuming back-and-forth became a streamlined workflow that increased carrier engagement and accelerated booking times. The reusable bidding component also laid the foundation for future marketplace enhancements.
